A rare  early 19th century L. Hitchcock chair, signed "L. HITCHCOCK HITCHCOCKSVILLE CONN WARRANTED," dating between 1825 and 1832. This hand-painted chair feature charming fruit motifs on the backrests and original rush seats, showcasing the classic Americana style. There is normal wear to painted finish, minor marks, nicks, scuffs, scratches, but incredible condition for it's age.

Lambert Hitchcock was an American furniture manufacturer, famous for designing and mass-producing the Hitchcock chair. Hitchcock was the son of John Lee Hitchcock, an American Revolutionary War veteran who was lost at sea in 1811.
